Say Cheese!

In September, we will be conducting the photography sessions for our new church pictorial directory. The Hospitality Committee has selected a bio directory format, which means each individual or family will have a chance to write something to be printed by their picture. This format will be a great tool to help us learn more about each other. When you sign up for your photo session, you will given a form to complete with your biographical information. Suggestions of things to include are your occupation, birthplace, education, places you have lived, children and grandchildren, community service, areas of church service, hobbies and pets. Please turn in the completed form to the church office by September 10th. You may also write the bio and send it as an email attachment to Kathy.

We will have a table set up in Kenyon Hall on the following Sundays: August 15, 22, 29, and September 5. Please stop by and select a time for your photo session. You will also be able to register for a time online, and there will be a link here when the information is available.

Photography sessions are scheduled for the following dates and times:

September 17          2:00 p.m. - 9:20 p.m.
September 18          9:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.
September 20          1:00 p.m. - 8:20 p.m.
September 21          1:00 p.m. - 8:20 p.m.
September 22          1:00 p.m. - 8:20 p.m.

If needed, we will also have a session on September 24 from 2:00 p.m. - 9:20 p.m.

We hope to have great participation on this project, so please sign up for a photo session. Also, if you would like to help with the sign up table one Sunday or serve as a host or hostess for the photo sessions, please let Christine know.

Bible-Que

Do you miss church potlucks? For three Wednesday evenings in July (the 14th, 21st and 28th), we will have a church cookout and potluck followed by a one-hour Bible study. The church will provide the meat and beverages. Those who attend should bring a dish to share and their own table service. The potluck will be from 5:30-6:30 and the Bible study will be from 6:30-7:30.

The Bible study will focus on the Apostle Paul: his life, journeys, and his thoughts about the role of women in the church.

Call the church office to register. Registrations must be received by July 8. Transportation will be provided from Wesley Acres and Scottish Rite Park. If you have transportation needs, please let the church office know.

Thinking of You

Is there anyone in our church family who needs to hear from you? Maybe they are ill, have lost a loved one, or because of health issues cannot attend church any longer. They need to know you care. All you have to do is take a Thinking of You card found in the pews, write a note and place the note in the Thinking of You box in the narthex. It will be delivered for you. You could make someone's day with this simple gesture.
