Learning Opportunities

One of the Pathways to Discipleship is Learning. First Church members are encouraged to participate in classes that will enhance their walk with God.

Your Bible! The Study Begins

This 7 week study is being led by Pastor Eric. It meets on the following Wednesdays at 7:00 pm. (April 11, 18, 25, May 2,9,16 and 23) Topics include:

  • What is the Bible?
  • How Did the Bible Come to Be?
  • What is the Old Testament About?
  • What is the New Testament About?
  • How Has the Bible Been Preserved and Handed on?
  • How Shall We Study the Bible?
  • What is the Place of the Bible in Our Lives?

The Wesley Challenge

On June 4, 11 and 18 at 7:00 pm interested participants will be taking the Wesley Challenge: 21 Days to a More Authentic Faith. Each of the three weeks focuses on relationships:

  • Relationship with God: an Upward Focus
  • Relationship with Self: an Inward Focus
  • Relationship with Others: an Outward Focus

This class will explore twenty-one questions John Wesley used in Oxford, England with the group nicknamed "The Holy Club." Being a true disciple involves both talking about and living out the teachings of Jesus. The questions asked will touch every aspect of life and faith.
